Software-as-a-service adoption 'continues to grow'
Mar 1 2010, 22:42 PM
Software-as-a-service solutions are being used by more and more businesses, it has been suggested.
Writing for InfoWorld, industry commentator Julia King said that software-as-a-service can help companies deal with a range of different issues from recruitment and hiring to payroll applications.
"Pressured to provide faster and better service capabilities while also keeping a tight rein on capital costs, businesses of all sizes are turning to software-as-a-service," she stated.
Ms King spoke to Ginnie Stouffer, vice president of consulting at business continuity company IDC Partners, which has just started using software-as-a-service.
According to Ms Stouffer, the organisation has been impressed with the technology, particularly in terms of its flexibility.
Last month, a study carried out by market research company Global Industry Analysts revealed that software-as-a-service uptake is continuing to grow around the world.
It forecast that the trend will continue for the foreseeable future as enterprises look for ways to maintain performance while cutting costs.
