What is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) allows you to get news from different sources. By using RSS you will no longer need to browse your favourite news websites for daily updates. You can choose the type of news you want and the news providers from which you wish to receive it. Just look out for the orange RSS icon or XML icon icon, which will be displayed on RSS compatible websites.

A RSS feed can be read by using either a desktop or online RSS reader application. A number of free and licensed applications are available and can easily be found on the web. Many of the widely available web browsers also offer this facility.

To find an RSS newsreader - whether web-based or otherwise - try Google's directory of newsreaders.
