Cloud computing users 'should be aware of security matters'
Apr 11 2011, 11:44 AM
It is important for those using cloud computing to ensure their business is as security-conscious as possible.
This is according to a piece in the Philippine Star, which explains business continuity and sustainability must be prioritised when adopting this method of data storage.
Oscar Chang, executive vice-president and chief development officer at Trend Micro, recently emphasised the importance of this matter and said bosses must ensure they safeguard their firm's data.
"Companies must also be familiar with what these threats are just as much as they should be familiar with the benefits that cloud computing brings," Mr Chang said.
The news source advises only publishing information that the organisation is happy with and ensuring they avoid clicking on any unexpected links in order to avoid viruses and malware.
This follows comments from Michael Dean, head of marketing at the National Computing Centre, who recently said small businesses are well suited to cloud computing solutions.
