Cloud computing 'suits small businesses'
Apr 8 2011, 13:57 PM
Small businesses are well-suited to making use of cloud computing solutions, an expert has suggested.
According to Michael Dean, head of marketing at the National Computing Centre, companies have come round to realising the potential benefits offered by the cloud.
But he added that only a limited number of organisations have actually taken serious steps to bring in the technology to their company.
Mr Dean stated this is more understandable in the case of sizeable corporations, but encouraged smaller businesses to make the move to cloud computing.
"Large organisations with complex infrastructures may need time to understand how to make the most effective transition, but smaller organisations with simpler infrastructures are likely to see the advantages and move more quickly," he stated.
His comments follow research by e2e that found 56 per cent of respondents have fears about what their level of control over their IT infrastructure will be should they move to the cloud.
